A simple, hearty bowl loaded with ground beef, garlic, and butter, perfect for cozy meals that feel like a warm hug after a hectic day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • A handful fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cooked rice or mashed potatoes, for serving

Instructions

  1. Mince the garlic cloves, finely chop the onion, and roughly chop the fresh parsley. Set aside.
  2. Place a large skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Let it melt and get slightly bubbly but not browned.
  3. Add the minced garlic and chopped onion to the skillet. Stir continuously for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant and translucent.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it up into crumbles and cook for about 6-8 minutes until browned and cooked through, stirring occasionally.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and soy sauce. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for 4-5 minutes.
  6. Stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter until melted and silky. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.
  8. Spoon a generous portion of cooked rice or mashed potatoes into a bowl, then ladle the beefy garlic butter mixture on top.
  9. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

If beef releases too much water, increase heat to evaporate liquid for a thicker sauce. Avoid burning garlic by stirring constantly and keeping heat moderate. For extra umami, add a splash of Worcestershire sauce. Ground turkey or chicken can substitute beef. Use ghee or vegan butter for dairy-free. Swap soy sauce for tamari for gluten-free.
