A warm, melty dip inspired by Big Mac flavors, perfect for game day parties. Made easy in a crockpot with ground beef, cheese, pickles, and classic condiments.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio recommended)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz American cheese slices, roughly chopped (Velveeta can be used for smoothness)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup dill pickle relish
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup chopped iceberg lettuce (added just before serving)
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes (optional)
  • Chips, crackers, or toasted buns for dipping

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef. Break it apart with a spoon and cook until no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  3. Transfer the beef mixture to the crockpot. Add chopped American cheese, mayonnaise, dill pickle relish, yellow mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir everything thoroughly to combine. The cheese will start melting over time.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 1 to 1.5 hours. Stir every 20-30 minutes to prevent sticking and help the cheese melt evenly. The dip should be hot, bubbly, and creamy.
  6. Just before serving, stir in the chopped iceberg lettuce and tomatoes (if using) for freshness and crunch.
  7. Serve warm straight from the crockpot or transfer to a serving dish. Surround with chips, crackers, or toasted buns for dipping.

Notes

If the dip thickens too much during cooking, stir in a splash of milk or beef broth to loosen it. Use Velveeta cheese for a smoother melt. Stir every 20-30 minutes to prevent sticking. For gluten-free, verify Worcestershire sauce brand. Vegetarian version can use lentils or plant-based ground meat and vegetarian Worcestershire or soy sauce.
