A quick and easy homemade Orange Julius that’s creamy, frothy, and bursting with bright orange flavor. Ready in just 5 minutes with simple pantry ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold milk
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) orange juice
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups (about 12-15) ice cubes
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon powdered milk
  • Optional: 1/4 cup heavy cream or half-and-half

Instructions

  1. Add the milk first. Pour 1 cup (240 ml) of cold milk into your blender.
  2. Add the orange juice. Pour in 1/2 cup (120 ml) of orange juice.
  3. Add the vanilla and sugar. Spoon in 1/4 cup (50 g) of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. If using powdered milk or heavy cream, add it now.
  4. Add the ice last. Drop in 1 1/2 cups of ice cubes.
  5. Blend on low for 10 seconds to break up the ice.
  6. Increase to high for 20-30 seconds until smooth, frothy, and uniform.
  7. Taste and adjust sweetness or thickness as needed.
  8. Pour and serve immediately in tall glasses.

Notes

For best results, use cold milk and cold orange juice. Layer ingredients correctly: liquids first, then dry ingredients, then ice. Don’t over-blend to avoid a watery drink. Adjust sweetness to taste.
