A quick and easy 4-ingredient creamy sausage cheese dip that’s perfect for any occasion, combining savory sausage with rich cream cheese and sharp cheddar for a crowd-pleasing appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz ground sausage (mild pork or spicy Italian)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground sausage, breaking it into small pieces with a spatula. Cook until fully browned and no pink remains, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  2. Soften the cream cheese by letting it sit at room temperature or microwaving for about 20 seconds (do not melt).
  3. In a mixing bowl, stir together the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and garlic powder until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the cooked sausage to the cheese mixture and stir until fully incorporated. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. Serve immediately or transfer to a small oven-safe dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes until bubbly and melty. Alternatively, microwave for about 60 seconds, stirring occasionally.

Notes

Drain excess fat from sausage to keep dip creamy and not greasy. Soften cream cheese before mixing to avoid lumps. Use sharp cheddar for best flavor. Warm dip gently to maintain creamy texture. Can be made ahead and reheated gently. Variations include using spicy sausage, plant-based sausage, or adding smoked paprika or cayenne for heat.
