Easy Oreo Balls Recipe

easy Oreo balls recipe - featured image

A quick and simple no-bake treat combining crushed Oreos and cream cheese coated in chocolate, perfect for last-minute guests or potlucks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 36 Oreo Cookies (14.3 oz / 405 g)
  • 8 oz (225 g) softened full-fat cream cheese
  • 12 oz (340 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • Optional toppings: crushed Oreos, colored sprinkles, white chocolate drizzle

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos finely using a food processor or place in a sealed bag and crush with a rolling pin until sandy with a few small chunks (5 minutes).
  2. Transfer crushed Oreos to a large bowl and mix with softened cream cheese until fully combined and smooth (5 minutes).
  3. Scoop about 1 tablespoon (15 g) of mixture and roll into smooth balls. Place on a lined baking sheet. Repeat until all mixture is used, about 30 balls (10 minutes).
  4. Chill the balls in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm up (30 minutes).
  5. Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second bursts, stirring between, or use a double boiler. Avoid overheating (5 minutes).
  6. Dip each chilled ball into melted chocolate using a toothpick or fork, coating fully. Let excess chocolate drip off and place back on the lined tray. Add toppings if desired (15 minutes).
  7. Return coated balls to the fridge for at least 30 minutes until chocolate sets firm. Store leftovers in an airtight container (30 minutes).

Notes

Use softened cream cheese for smooth mixing. Chill balls thoroughly before dipping to prevent breaking. Rewarm chocolate gently if it thickens during dipping. Store in airtight container refrigerated up to 1 week or freeze up to 2 months. For vegan or gluten-free versions, substitute ingredients accordingly.
