A fast, tasty, and satisfying salmon recipe featuring a sticky honey garlic glaze, perfect for busy weeknights and ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb salmon fillet, skin removed and cut into 1-inch bite-sized pieces
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Red chili flakes (optional), to taste
  • Green onions, thinly sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse and pat dry the salmon fillet. Cut into 1-inch bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Set aside.
  3. Heat olive or avocado oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
  4. Add salmon pieces in a single layer, leaving space between each. Sear for about 2 minutes until golden on one side.
  5. Flip salmon pieces and cook for another 2 minutes until opaque but still tender.
  6. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the salmon. Reduce heat to medium and toss gently for 1-2 minutes until the glaze thickens and coats the salmon.
  7. Season with black pepper and red chili flakes if desired. Toss to combine.
  8. Remove from heat, garnish with sliced green onions, and serve immediately.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure proper searing. Use room temperature salmon and pat dry to avoid steaming. Add glaze only after salmon is mostly cooked to prevent burning. If glaze thickens too much or burns, lower heat and add a splash of water. For extra flavor, add a splash of sesame oil at the end. Can be baked at 400°F for 8-10 minutes as an alternative cooking method.
