A playful and refreshing summer drink featuring a puff of cotton candy melting into sparkling water with a hint of lemon and optional berries. Perfect for hot days and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large puff of cotton candy (pink or blue) per serving
  • 8 oz (240 ml) sparkling water per serving (plain or lightly flavored)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) fresh-squeezed lemon juice per drink
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) simple syrup (optional)
  • A few fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries) for garnish (optional)
  • Ice cubes to fill glass
  • Mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Fill a tall glass about 3/4 full with ice cubes to keep the drink cold and slow cotton candy melting.
  2. Pour 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of fresh lemon juice over the ice.
  3. If desired, gently stir in 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of simple syrup for extra sweetness.
  4. Slowly pour 8 oz (240 ml) of chilled sparkling water into the glass, pouring gently to preserve bubbles.
  5. Carefully place a large puff of cotton candy on the rim or just above the drink to create a floating cloud.
  6. Add a few fresh berries and a sprig of mint for garnish if desired.
  7. Serve immediately before the cotton candy fully dissolves.

Notes

Add cotton candy last just before serving to keep it fluffy and prevent it from melting too quickly. Chill glass and sparkling water beforehand to slow melting. Use plain or lightly flavored sparkling water for best balance. Simple syrup is optional depending on desired sweetness. Fresh berries and mint add color and subtle flavor. Store leftover drink without cotton candy in fridge up to 24 hours; do not reheat.
